Thalia

Going back home to Maryland for Christmas and New Years, I knew I wanted to try and shoot some personal work, just for the fun of it.  My good friend, Thalia, whom I met in high school, was always my willing victim when I was in college.  Anytime I needed someone to model for me, she was more than happy to do so.  Fast forward a few years (oh dang, I don’t want to say how long it’s been since college haha!) and she volunteered to be my model again- it was just like old times!  We went to a park near my parents house and frolicked around until we got too cold and needed to retreat to the warmth of the great indoors :-)

It may have been overcast for most of the time, but I’ve always loved the woods in winter so that wasn’t going to stop us.  Winter woods have a sort of spooky whimsy to it, so overcast and a bit rainy seemed fitting!

“I prefer winter and fall, when you feel the bone structure in the landscape - the loneliness of it - the dead feeling of winter. Something waits beneath it - the whole story doesn’t show.”
- Andrew Wyeth
