First Dance Songs

The first dance is such an iconic part of a wedding.  A song can say so much and it’s such a personal choice between the couple; I always love hearing what they chose to share as their first dance as husband and wife.  Music is a huge part of my life, so I decided to put together a small list of some First Dance Songs that may not be the most traditional, but are romantic, quirky and great for a couple to dance to.  When I got married almost 2 years ago (holy smokes, 2 years already, time flies!) it took my husband and I FOREVER to find a song that fit what we wanted to say.  We ended up choosing This Will Be Our Year by the Zombies because the lyrics perfectly summed up what it felt like to finally be getting married after being in a long distance relationship for 8 years.

I’d love to hear what some of your favorite first dance songs are.  Share in the comments or on Facebook!

Here’s my list- some slow, others with a more upbeat tempo.  Some may be a bit on the long side, but usually your DJ can help trim down whatever song you may chose.

Happy listening!
